How to connect the mindwave mobile to mac

Preparation:

Make sure you have this device in your hand.  Get one.

And your laptop:

Pairing

 

First of all, installed the software from the DVD. I highly recommend to install Mindwave Mobile Tutorial. Here is a screenshot.

Because with this app installed, you will be able to know whether your device has been connected or not. On the upper right corner, right now you have this:

ThinkGear Connector should be included in that software, if nor Download ThinkGear Connector and install on your machine, now it should be on your menu bar and saying no connected applications:

Now, make sure your headset has a fresh battery and is turned on.

Hold the button on the on/pair side for more than 3s until the light turns to red, which means the device is ready to pair.

Then on the Mac, go to system preference, click ‘Bluetooth” , make sure it is on and discoverable and enable it to be shown on on the menu bar.

Click the tiny bluetooth icon on the menu bar, you will see this list

Click “Set up Bluetooth Device”,

It is automatically searching bluetooth device, when you see mindwave up on the list, choose it and click ” Continue”

And wait until you see this:

Before testing it working or not, a very important tip is to doubt-check your sharing in the system preference:

You should enable the bluetooth sharing:

Congratulations!  You are almost done. Before getting it connected, one more thing to do, go to bluetooth and choose browse device:

After a few seconds, you will see your device appears on the list!

You’re settled and welcome to the brain hack world.  Not really?

 

Testing

Put your headset on your head, make sure the all the sensors are on the right places.

Go back to check out the ThinkGear Connector, it now should look like this

And also go back to check your Mindwave Mobile Tutorial, it’s now showing connected!
